     November is an anticipatory month – it starts out fall-ish and morphs very gradually into a winter month by the time Thanksgiving arrives and ski season opens. Although it usually snows around Halloween, it’s really only in November that snow starts to accumulate at higher elevations. And everyone watches that accumulation very carefully. Town feels like it’s holding its collective breath for winter to start, while hotels are buffing up their properties in advance of ski season’s launch.

  Race of the Santas Saturday, December 7 -

     Start the winter festivities in Breckenridge by lacing up your running shoes for the RACE OF THE SANTAS! The race kicks off on Main Street directly in front of the Canteen Tap House (208 N. Main Street) and finishes in Blue River Plaza just in time for the Lighting of Breckenridge. The first 700 registrants receive a commemorative socks with registration. The first 150 youth registrants for the Moose March receive a moose beanie with registration. Races are not age-restricted -- please select Race of the Santas (running) or Moose March (walking/kids) when registering. Race of the Santas is a fundraiser for Carriage House Early Learning Center!
